Star Place Façade
The Talee Star Place is an impressive lighting façade installation and the new hot spot in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. After two years of planning and construction, the Star Place has opened its retail space for luxurious shopping on 10 floors in November 2008. 2500 RGB Led light modules haven been built behind a combination of vertical glass fins and horizontal lamellas to form one very unique façade. In daytime the fully glazed front acts as a sun barrier, while the DMX controlled LED modules light up the buildings big star token with a nearly unlimited amount of colorful scenes and animations at night.
Every LED module is single controllable using the e:cue programmer software and its stunning matrix mapping and animation features. 11 e:cue butler DMX output devices and one e:cue media engine 2 have been used to calculate and distribute the needed DMX data. The e:cue system´s reliability and user friendliness allowed the lighting designers from UN Studio and Lightlife to realize their ideas and concepts in a very efficient and timesaving, but still creative way.
