The ECE Shopping Mall in Essen is one of the biggest most visited shopping malls in Germany.

e:cue´s Engines and Interfaces provide the lighting control solution for the indoor and outdoor lighting control of the shopping mall. The mall is covered with hundreds of bubble-shaped luminaries controlled by e:cue to create dynamic color-changing lighting effects. This RGB façade and general interior lighting is controlled by e:cue’s Video Control Server(VCS) and Media Engine 2. The VCS featuring e:cue’s video software tool Emotion replays clips and videos on the façade of the building - whereas Media Engine 2 controls the automated show and the color-changing sequences on the façade covered with bubble-shaped luminaries. Indoor lighting is controlled by e:cue’s DMX2DALI for fluorescent lighting via three e:nodes. The e:nodes send DMX signals to DMX2DALI, which in turn converts the signals to DALI for integration of DALI-driven luminaries.

ECE’s unique facade with dynamic color-changing lighting together with indoor lighting of over 200 stores provide mall visitors a great shopping experience, while comprehensive control of this massive installation from one central location using touch screen user interfaces is made easy for the building management using e:cue’s control solution.
