Long known worldwide for its high-quality couture craftsmanship, class and elegance, Louis Vuitton sought to communicate the same sophisticated artistry and innovation through a large canvas the exterior of its newest retail location in Las Vegas. Louis Vuitton CityCenter at the Crystals’ exterior features a glittering three-story LED façade with ever-changing animation consisting of the LV logo morphing into starbursts and other signature shapes, and is controlled by e:cue’s Lighting Application Suite, and Emotion software.

At the heart of this project is e:cue’s software suite which controls the project’s 10 DMX universes. Using OSC (Open Sound Control) protocol, the Programmer was able to interface with the Emotion software, illustrating the control system’s ability to communicate with external environments. Video was able to be seamlessly mapped onto the abnormal planes of the building façade, and a built-in astronomical clock was added along with date and time triggers, to start the lighting sequence at the beginning of the evening, and stop at dawn, changing with the position of the sun throughout the year.
