EVO´s dockside crane in Offenbach was revitalized in April 2010 after it was given monument protection status. Located on the riverbank´s exposed waterside, between the A 661 motorway and the Main River, the historical coal crane has gained a new life. Traxon and e:cue‘s LED lighting and control solutions transformed this crane into a dynamic lighting show with 36,000 LEDs. It is the first project in which Traxon Technologies´ Monochrome Tube CW is used. 378 fixtures highlight the crane, tracing its outline and letting its brightness blur into the darkness of the night. Each single Monochrome Tube CW is connected to one DMX2PWM Dimmer channel, allowing individual control of each fixture. Additionally, an integrated diffuser controlled by e:cue Butlers DMX output devices, guarantees a constant lighting solution perfectly calibrated to accentuate the crane´s 53-meter loading bridge. In total, 50 DMX2PWM and two Butlers were used to control the dynamic lighting show.
